Police Identity Officers Involved In Last Week's Fatal Shooting

Columbus police officials say three officers were involved in a fatal shooting of a suspect last Friday on the east side. Officers Stephen Galiffo, James Sandford and Anthony Rogers were involved in the death of 20-year-old Jacquarius Robinson behind a home on Knollwood Drive. Robinson was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Damion Wade early Friday morning following an argument at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Fountainview Court. Police have said Robinson ran when officers tried to stop him. A handgun was found at the scene. Columbus police have shot 14 people this year. Three people, all African-American, have been killed by police since June.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
