Police Investigating Possible Links In West Side Rapes

WCBE Files

Columbus Police are investigating whether a series of rapes on the west side are connected. The latest happened Friday morning when a woman was raped in an alley off South Burgess Avenue. Police say it marks the third attack in the area in the last month. In all cases, the women were walking alone in the early morning hours when they were attacked by a group of young caucasian males. One woman was assaulted on Brehl Avenue in mid-April, rougly a week before another woman was attacked on Sullivant Avenue. Anyone with information in these cases is asked to call the Columbus Division of Police.
