Preparations For Mound Street Connector Begin

The Ohio Department of Transportation today began shifting Westbound I-70 traffic from the 18th Street bridge to west of the 70/71 interchange. The move is in preparation for construction of the Mound Street connector. Plans call for the installation of trees, crosswalks, sidewalks, decorative streetlighting and traffic signals. Mound Street will become a one-way street westbound between 4th and Washington streets. Construction crews also will rebuild the 18th Street bridge. The work is expected to be completed in the fall of 2014.
