President Of Somalia Speaks At OSU

Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud says al-Shabab , the group claiming responsibility for the weekend terrorist attack that killed dozens of people at a Kenyan mall, presents a threat to the world. Speaking at Ohio State University yesterday, Mohamud said reports some of the attackers may have been Somalis who lived in the U.S. illustrates that. Mohamud said he has spoken with the president of Kenya and plans to visit the country. 40 people held a demonstration at Ohio State yesterday, protesting Mohamud's policies and leadership. They say he is trying to centralize power and his government has ties to al-Shabab, which is linked to al-Qaida. Protestors also said Mohamud is doing little to quell the growing problem of violence against women. Mohamud said his government has taken several steps to address the problem.
