Proposal would offer loans to recruit first responders

Columbus, OH – Republican Mayoral candidate Bill Todd has criticized Democratic incumbent Michael Coleman for failing to hire a sufficient number of police officers. And to help drive that point home, Todd was recently joined by two Republican state lawmakers in announcing a proposal that would boost the number of qualified police and fire recruits in urban areas by offering forgiveable college loans.
