Prosecutor Says Slain Pataskala Woman Engaged In Prostitution

Delaware County prosecutors say the Pataskala woman raped and killed last year turned to prostitution to make ends meet and died after answering an online ad offering 200 dollars. Prosecutors say 23-year-old Deanna Ballman was in a difficult financial situation after separating from her husband and trying to support two young children. 37-year-old former New Albany physician Ali Salim has pleaded guilty to raping and killing Ballman and will be sentenced later this month. Prosecutors say he placed online ads to meet sexual partners, with many references to exchanging drugs for sex. Prosecutors say there is no evidence Ballman used drugs.
