Prosecutors Detail Charges In Ashland Slavery Case

Four people have been charged with enslaving a mentally disabled Ohio woman and her daughter. Prosecutors say the four beat the woman, denied her food, sexually assaulted her and threatened her with dogs and snakes. Jodie Callahan, Jessica Hunt, Dezerah Silsby, and Daniel Brown also allegedly forced Shannon Eckley and her child to sleep in unsafe conditions in a house in Ashland, restricted access to a bathroom and forced the woman to eat dog food and crawl on the floor wearing a dog collar. Three of the four are due in court today for a pretrial hearing.
