Prosecutors: Jailed Former OSU Student Tried To Have Judge Killed

Lucas County Sheriff's Office

Federal prosecutors say the former Ohio State University student jailed in Lucas County has been indicted on charges of trying to arrange the murder of a federal judge overseeing his case.  Prosecutors say 37-year-old Yahya Farooq Mohammad told another  inmate last April he wanted to have judge Jack Zouhary kidnapped and killed. Prosecutors say Mohammad then arranged for the delivery of money to an undercover FBI employee to carry out the plan.  Mohammad is one of four men with Ohio ties charged last year with working to send money and other assistance to a known al Qaida leader who is now deceased. Mohammad has pleaded not guilty.
