Warren County authorities are moving ahead on a planned 175-million dollar "racino" near Interstate 75 and Monroe.
The 120-acre site would include a harness racing track with grandstand and an indoor site with 25-hundred video lottery terminals. The racino is projected to employ 700 people. County commissioners plan a hearing Tuesday on the project, after earlier approving a tax plan to fund road and other public improvements around the site. Scioto Downs in suburban Columbus opened a racino in June, and others are in the works in the state. The racinos combine horse racing with video slots.
