Rate Of Local Exports Below Those Of Other Cities And States

columbusregion.com

A newly-released report by a local economic development group says central Ohio exports lag behind those in other Ohio cities and neighboring states, as a share of the local economy. The report by Columbus 2020 says regional exports accounted for 10.2 percent of the economy in 2012. That compares with 21 percent in Detroit, 17 percent in Indianapolis, and 13 percent in the U.S. The report says many local companies have yet to attempt to export their goods or services.  The report recommends developing a plan to boost exports.
