Red Light Camera Company Lobbyist Meets With FBI

WCBE files

The City Hall lobbyist at the center of the Columbus red light camera scandal is talking to federal investigators. John Raphael and his attorneys met with the FBI yesterday.  Neither side has released any details. Raphael, the owner of Patrick J's Bar and Grille and a long-time friend of City Council president and Mayoral candidate Andy Ginther, is the man former Redflex CEO Karen Finley has said was the conduit for bribes given to government officials in Columbus and Cincinnati in exchange for obtaining or maintaining municipal contracts.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
