Religious Group Settles Wrongful Termination Lawsuit Filed By Pregnant Employee

A Springfield woman who said a religious-based community organization fired her after she told them she was pregnant has settled her lawsuit. The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio filed the lawsuit in 2013 on behalf of Jennifer Maudlin against Inside Out and its director. Terms of the settlement with the Christian-based childcare facility were not released.  Maudlin said the organization violated laws prohibiting sex and pregnancy discrimination and employment discrimination in firing her from her job as a cook in 2012.
