Resource Officer Gets Seven Years In Prison

A former Columbus police school resource officer was sentenced to seven years in prison this morning for coercing sexual behavior from female students. 50-year-old Todd Smith pleaded guilty earlier this year to coercing sexual activity and exchanging thousands of graphic text messages with two students at Centennial High School. Smith was also sentenced to one year of house arrest, five years of supervised release and a 20 thousand dollar fine.
