Some retired military generals plan to promote President Obama's pre-K education program today in suburban Dayton. The non-partisan group called Mission: Readiness will read books to children and talk about the benefits of more early childhood education. The generals say the programs could lead to tens of thousands more high school graduates and economic boosts. The generals say many young Americans can't serve in the military because of poor education and health and crime issues. The President has proposed working with states to provide programs for all 4-year-olds and eventually all 3-year-olds.
