Reviewing 2007 with Mayor Coleman - Part 1

Columbus, OH – Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman puts the launching of locally-based discount airline Skybus and the city's takeover of the City Center mall site as two of the more noteworthy events of 2007. The mayor says starting the demolition of the vacant Woodland Meadows apartment complex on the east side, a 20 percent decline in the city's homicide rate and launching the new Community Action Organization are also accomplishments that deserve recognition. 2007 also saw the mayor survive a scandal involving his wife's state office job to easily win re-election to a third term. In the first part Jim Letizia's annual end-of-the-year interview with the mayor, Coleman says getting the city ready for its bicentennial celebration is fueling his plans to serve out his current four-year term and possibly run for another.
