"Road Diet" Planned For Indianola Avenue

google.com

Clintonville residents last night heard plans by Columbus city officials to reduce lanes on Indianola Avenue in a so-called "road diet." That’s the traffic engineering term for a redesign that reduces the number of travel lanes. City officials say lanes of vehicle traffic between Morse Road and Oakland Park Avenue would be replaced with bicycle lanes. Construction of a center turn lane is also planned. Supporters say the project would slow drivers and improve safety. Opponents say the road is too small and too congested. The city hopes to beging the redesign work next year.
