SBA To Assist Small Businesses In Columbus, Other NHL Cities

The U.S. Small Business Administration will be offering counseling help to small businesses in Columbus and 22 other cities affected by the National Hockey League lockout. The Small Business Administration will be reaching out in coming months to business owners in the 23 cities that host NHL teams and are affected by the lockout now approaching its fourth month. SBA representatives will provide counseling sessions and try to help businesses work through the effects of the work stoppage. SBA Administrator Karen Mills says the federal government must play a role in helping to ensure stability during massive work stoppages that affect local businesses. Columbus had also been scheduled to host this season's All-Star Game. Some of the other cities slated to receive help from the agency include Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Dallas and Boston.
