Schottenstein Says No New Office For Gee

The Chair of Ohio State University's Board of Trustees says no decision has been made on an office for retired president Gordon Gee.

Bob Schottenstein is disputing reports that the university would construct a 190 thousand dollar office suite for Gee and an assistant. Schottenstein says a suitable office will be found for Gee using existing space. Gee retired July 1st, a month after controversial remarks about Notre Dame, Roman Catholics and Southeastern Conference schools made in December became public. Gee will remain a tenured professor in the university's College of Law as part of his retirement package. University spokesperson Gary Lewis says the plan for an office suite in Page Hall was a proposal that hasn't been finalized.
