Second Suspect In 2012 Fatal Shooting Gets 10 Years In Prison

Columbus Division of Police

A Columbus man will serve 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a 2012 shooting death. 29-year-old Kevin Harrington killed 30-year-old Kahlee Beard. Prosecutors say the shooting stemmed from an argument over a cellphone contract between Harrington and his uncle, who lived across the street from the victim. The uncle is serving a life prison sentence.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
