The Ohio Senate is expected to make additional adjustments to its version of the state budget bill ahead of votes this week by the finance committee and the full Senate. The committee today plans to accept the latest changes to the spending plan. Majority Republicans want to boost state education spending by more than 717 million dollars, as compared with the current budget that expires on June 30th. Senators have already removed from the bill what's left of Governor John Kasich's proposed income tax cut in favor of a tax cut for small businesses. Senate passage would send the measure into conference committee talks with the Ohio House.
