Sentencing In Fatal December Crash

Six years in prison is the sentence handed down Thursday to a South Columbus man convicted of causing a fatal drunken driving accident.

35-year-old Matthew Atkinson crossed the center line on Watkins Road last December, colliding head on with a vehicle driven by 24-year-old victim Chad Fields. Atkinson will also serve three years of court supervised release and will lose his driver's license for life.
