Six People Indicted For Smuggling Drugs Into State Prison

sidneydailynews.com

A federal grand jury has charged six Ohio men for conspiring to smuggle into and distribute drugs inside of the London Correctional Institution.

Prosecutors say the defendants conspired to distribute Suboxone, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana. Among them is 59-year-old Jospph Brodbeck of Columbus, who was a contract employee of the prison's food service company and worked in the prison kitchen. Brodbeck's co-defendants were each inmates at one point and allegedly paid Brodbeck for the drugs. The co-defendants are Dayton residents Alton Herron, Davionte Norvell and Rodney Herron, along with inmate William Lowery and Gerry Branner of Cincinnati.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
