cnn.com

Some of the Dole Fresh Vegetables bagged spinach that has tested positive for salmonella was processed at a company plant in Springfield. The Food and Drug Administration is investigating whether the spinach was contaminated before it arrived at the plant. The company is recalling eight-ounce bags of the spinach distributed in Ohio and a dozen other states. The FDA says a random sample examined by the Michigan Department of Agriculture tested positive for salmonella. No illnesses have been reported.
