Some Local School Issues Approved By Voters; Hilliard Voters Approve Charter Change

Olentangy Local Schools officials say they will now start moving on plans to build a fourth high school. Voters approved a bond issue and tax increase yesterday to build the new school in Berlin Township. The money will also be used to operate the school, hire new teachers and make improvements to the district's other three high schools.  Unofficial results also show money issues in the Newark City, Delaware City and Jonathan Alder school districts were approved. Measures in the Amanda Clearcreek, Licking Heights and Walnut Township school districts were defeated. And Hilliard voters approved a charter amendment prohibiting city council from passing zoning changes as emergency measures and banning the creation of tax increment financing areas for residential developments.
