TV talk show host and former Cincinnati mayor Jerry Springer has decided not to enter the gubernatorial race.

Springer announced his decision Wednesday in his weekly podcast. The 73-year-old Democrat says as "a husband, father and grandfather," he isn't ready for a five-year commitment of campaigning and serving. Springer ran unsuccessfully for the  nomination in 1982 and has contemplated other statewide runs in recent years.
