Springfield Teen Pleads Not Guilty To Killing His Brother

A 16-year-old Springfield boy accused of killing his 14-year-old brother after an argument over Halloween candy has pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity to charges including aggravated murder. Nicholas Starling also is charged with murder and tampering with evidence in the death of his brother Harley. Bond has been set at 100 thousand dollars. Prosecutors say the teen beat his brother with a baseball bat and then stabbed him. Nicholas Starling is being tried as an adult.
