The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame welcomed its newest class with a ceremony in Cleveland over the weekend.
Joan Jett and The Blackhearts kicked off the evening with a performance that included Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. After her induction, Jett described the evening as one full of emotion.
Humor marked the induction speech of Bill Withers, who noted he's the youngest, living solo performer inductee of this class. The 76-year-old Withers - who rarely performs in public - sang Lean On Me with John Legend and Stevie Wonder.
And Ringo Starr rounded out the class. After an introduction from Paul McCartney, Starr shared some of what life was like on the road with the Beatles.
The evening concluded with Starr leading a couple songs with just about every big name in attendance including McCartney, Joe Walsh, Gary Clark Jr, Zac Brown and Beck. Here's a sample of one.
Green Day, Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and The "5" Royales were also inducted. The ceremony will be broadcast on HBO May 30.
