State Delays Racino Construction

Mar 28, 2013

The Ohio State Racing Commission has voted to delay construction on two "racinos," requiring developer Penn National Gaming to provide more enclosed seating for horse racing spectators.

The company must add 650 more seats in climate-controlled areas at tracks planned for Dayton and Austintown. The panel is concerned racinos may emphasize video lottery gambling and short-change fans of live horse racing.
