State Drunken Driving Registry Incomplete

An investigation by the Newark Advocate shows the state's online registry of repeatedly convicted drunken drivers includes information from  half of the counties in the state.  The registry should include public information about those convicted of at least five OVI offenses within 20 years. 75 courts from 46 of Ohio's 88 counties have submitted data since the registry's creation five years ago.  The registry now lists 522 offenders, and that includes several dozen duplicates.  The Ohio Department of Public Safety maintains the registry with information submitted by courts. There is no penalty under law if courts fail to provide the information.
