The Ohio Division of Liquor Control says more than 1 billion dollars were spent last year on spiritous liquor, breaking the sales record set in 2014. The Ohio Department of Commerce said sales were up more than 7 percent, and showed growth at the retail and wholesale levels. 13 million gallons were sold last year, up nearly 4 percent from the previous year. Sales continued to trend toward premium brands.
