State Says Meth Lab Busts Increasing

Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation statistics show methampehtamine lab busts are increasing partly because meth is now being made in spaces as small as a large soda bottle. More than 1,175 meth labs were been busted from October 2011 through May. Those numbers are similar to national trends. New federal regulations helped make meth labs more difficult. But new methods are fueling the resurgence. In one called "shake and bake," ingredients are mixed in a 32-ounce soda bottle. Ohio recently became the 25th state to mandate a national database to track sales of key meth ingredients.
