State Says Thousands Of Medicaid Enrollees Could Lose Coverage Saturday

State Medicaid director John McCarthy says roughly 61 thousand enrollees are poised to lose their coverage Saturday after failing to verify their eligibility as required by federal law.  The process was on hold in Ohio for a year as the Affordable Care Act was implemented and as the state moved to a new computer system.  Democrats have raised concerns about whether recipients received renewal notices or had trouble submitting their information.  McCarthy told a legislative panel his agency adjusted the forms and tried to increase awareness about the process.
