State To Take Control Of Cleveland Schools

The state plans to take control of the Cleveland schools due to their poor academic performance.The Ohio Department of Education will appoint an "academic distress commission" to guide the district out of its academic emergency rating. District officials say the commission is unnecessary, since they're in the early stages of a state-approved turnaround program.
