State officials are looking to save money by privatizing prison food service.Contractors will be asked today for bids to feed prisoners at Ohio's adult and juvenile prisons. Governor John Kasich's budget plan projects a 16-million-dollar savings, at the expense of more than 450 state jobs. Officials say many employees could be offered positions with the private contractor. The plan is opposed by the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association, which represents 33-thousand state workers.
