Statewide Tornado Drill Set For Wednesday

WCBE Files

Tornado warning sirens will be activated around Ohio on Wednesday at 9:50am for the annual statewide tornado drill. Local and state emergency management officials say the event is a good time for individuals, families and businesses to to discuss and practice plans for what to do when a tornado strikes. Ohio’s Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week runs from March 19th though the 25th. It is designed to remind people about the dangers of springtime tornadoes, thunderstorms, floods, hail, lighting strikes, and power outages.
