STEM Student To Face Adult Murder Charge

May 17, 2013

A Franklin County Juvenile Court Judge has ruled there is probable cause to try a Columbus teenager as an adult for a fatal shooting last January.

15-year-old Jesean Callender is accused of firing into a group of fellow Linden-McKinley STEM Academy students behind a South Linden duplex, killing 15-year-old Kaewaun Coleman. 17-year-old Shyquan Washington is facing a delinquency charge of murder in the case for allegedly supplying the weapon. Columbus police believe the shooting was gang-related.
