Study Finds Baby Safety Gates Aren't Always Safe

A new study by researchers at Children's Hospital in Columbus shows 2 thousand kids are treated at emergency rooms each year from injuries resulting from falls through or climbing onto safety gates. Researchers examined data on kids up to the age of six. They say parents should take extra precautions, including using bolted gates rather than pressure-mounted ones at the top of stairs.  The study is published online in the journal Academic Pediatrics.
