SUPCO Upholds FCCS Confidentiality Policy

The Ohio Supreme Court has blocked a woman's efforts to inspect Franklin County Children Services records regarding an abuse investigation focusing on her daughter. The justices say the woman failed to show sufficent and just cause to override the agency's confidentiality policy. The agency denied the woman's request for investigative files and says the abuse report was unsubstantiated. The agency later told the woman the conclusion was changed to "indicative of abuse." She wanted to find out why.
