SUPCO Rejects Temporary Halt State Effort To Reclaim ECOT Funding

The Ohio Supreme Court has denied a request to temporarily halt the state's efforts to recoup 60 million dollars from the state's largest online charter school operator. The state reduced monthly payments to the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow while ECOT challenges how officials tallied student attendance. The court rejected ECOT's request. ECOT said it will run out of cash and close in 2018, in the middle of the school year, if the court failed to intervene.
