Conditions in central Ohio tonight will allow people to again view the so-called 'supermoon', the biggest full moon in nearly 70 years. The moon earlier this morning reached its closest point to Earth since 1948, making it appear much larger and brighter than normal. Full moons can come with superstitions, which Cleveland Clinic physician Scott Bea says are born out of our desire to control things generally out of our control, but experts haven't been able to pin down any real connection between the moon and human behavior.
Astronomers say the moon won't be this close to Earth again until the year 2034.
