Twenty six percent of central Ohio employers surveyed by Manpower Incorporated say they expect strong hiring in the first quarter of next year. Seven percent say they will cuts jobs, and 64 percent say they will maintain current staffing. The difference between those who will hire and those who will fire is up seven percent from the first quarter of this year. Businesses who plan to hire credit a strong stock market and a healthier economy. Hiring is projected to decline in the construction sector, but increase in the private education, health care, transportation, and leisure and hospitality sectors.
