Suspect In 1997 Rape Gets Eight Year Prison Sentence

A Columbus man convicted of raping a woman in 1997 in Beatty Park was sentenced this week to eight years in prison. Prosecutors say 46-year-old Joseph Carter was charged after new DNA evidence linked him to the crime. The DNA was in a rape kit that was not tested until last year.
