Suspect Who Died After Chase, Standoff Identified

The Delaware County coroner says the man found dead in his car after a high speed chase through Marion and Delaware counties Monday night died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Sheriff's deputies say 26-year-old Omar Alshammary of Dublin died following a chase and standoff that started in Marion County when he fled from Ohio Highway Patrol troopers. It ended with a crash near U.S. Routes 42 and 23 in Delaware after an exchange of gunfire. No other information has been released.
