Taylor Reportedly Mislead County Republicans About Kasich's Gubernatorial Endorsement

cleveland.com

Ohio Lieutenant Governor and Republican gubernatorial candidate Mary Taylor has reportedly distanced herself from Governor John Kasich with misleading statements during a recent endorsement interview before fellow Republicans. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Taylor told a gathering of Clermont County Republicans last week Kasich endorsed her GOP rival, Attorney General Mike DeWine. Kasich has endorsed Taylor.  Meeting attendees told the newspaper Taylor also said she hasn't seen Kasich in about a year. Kasich's spokesperson denies the claim.  Kasich remains a critic of President Trump, and that may play a role in the GOP gubernatorial primary.  Taylor's campaign spokesperson says she did not lie about Kasich's endorsement but told the group a Kasich ally leads DeWine's campaign and the governor is not actively campaigning on her behalf.
