Tips Helped Police Find Missing Woman

Chillicothe Police

Chillicothe police attribute the quick recovery of a woman reported missing to a goal of getting information out about such reports as fast as possible.  Such speed is significant in a community where four women have died under suspicious circumstances and two others remain missing. Police Chief Keith Washburn says a decision was made to release information fast after the department learned Friday 30-year-old Loretta Lawson-McCrary hadn't been seen for a few days. The woman was found safe a few hours later after several tips. Lawson-McCrary says she was unaware that people were looking for her, or that she was reported missing.  Washburn says the four women who died and the two that remain missing were all drug addicts who sometimes prostituted themselves.  Washburn says police moved fast Friday because the latest report involved a woman with a similar background.
