The man in charge of Toledo's troubled water treatment plant is stepping down.

Toledo Mayor Michael Collins requested the resignation of David Leffler, citing what he calls "irreconcilable differences."  Leffler will leave on September 1st. Toledo officials ordered a weekend drinking water ban earlier this month when toxins produced by algae in Lake Erie got into the city's water supply through the plant.
