Toledo Spending More To Treat Drinking Water This Summer

Toledo Blade

The city of Toledo is spending nearly 2 million additional dollars this summer on chemicals to neutralize algae toxins at the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant. Total cost is estimated at 4.7 million. Toledo issued a water ban earlier this month after toxins from algae in Lake Erie got into the supply. The city is also considering several other short-term options to cope with the algae season.
