Trillin Wins Thurber Prize

The Thurber Prize for American Humor has been awarded to Calvin Trillin for his collection of writings entitled "Quite Enough of Calvin Trillin: Forty Years of Funny Stuff."

The winner receives 5-thousand dollars. The award is named for the late Columbus native and humorist James Thurber, who was known for the short stories and cartoons he contributed to The New Yorker magazine. The 76-year-old Trillin has been a staff writer at The New Yorker since 1963.
