Trucker Pleads No Contest In Fatal Columbus Crash

Sentencing is scheduled next month for an Illinois truck driver convicted of causing a fatal crash earlier this year on I-70 near the Alton-Darby Creek overpass. 42-year-old Tony Smith pleaded no contest yesterday to vehicular manslaughter charges. Prosecutors say Smith failed to slow down with other vehicles near the crash scene last May. They say he crashed into four stopped vehicles, killing two women.
