The Labor Department says the number of applications for unemployment insurance benefits in Ohio fell by 12-hundred last week due to fewer layoffs in manufacturing.
Nationally, claims fell by 9-thousand to a seasonally adjusted 363-thousand, a level consistent with modest hiring. A department spokesperson says Hurricane Sandy had no effect on the figures. Since January, U.S. employers have added an average of 150-thousand jobs a month.
